the judicial system… in any country should not be the sole metric system for your moral code. just because someone is of “legal age” doesnt mean its okay for an adult, who is 26 years old, to date someone just because the other person falls under “legal age” in whatever country. its not so much about legalities or even age gapes per se and more about mentality. this is why if a 30 year old is dating a 26 year old its okay… because the level of maturity and mentality are similar between both parties. so what would a 26 year old have in common with a 14 year old enough to date them, what common life goals? what common mentality? none at all. that gap is big enough for the adult to be their fucking aunt or uncle. its the gap in mentality that makes children (bc thats what a 14 year old is, A CHILD!! even 18 year olds are CHILDREN especially to someone who’s 26) really easy targets for pedophiles. a 14 year old isn’t going to wake up the day of their birthday and suddenly have so much wisdom and maturity and adult mentality just because theyre now the legal age in their country, theyre still kids. a 26 year old man saying he’d date a 14 year old is pedophilic regardless of the fact that the legal age of consent in south korea is 13, he’s a pedophile. plain and simple stop making excuses for it.
